Teacher training quality campaign (OLe+)
OLe+ project of the teacher training quality campaign
The OLe+ project at the University of Oldenburg is a development initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the ‘Quality Initiative for Teacher Training’, with the aim of improving the quality of teacher training. It also seeks to foster closer co-operation between educational sciences, subject-specific didactics and specialised subject disciplines, as well as between the first, second and third phases of teacher training in both teaching and research. The focus is on three key areas: dealing with heterogeneity, professionalisation and the relationship between theory and practice.
Within the Department of Computing Science Education, the OLe+ project has the following key priorities:
1. Promoting professionalisation: This core process aims to improve teaching and student learning by developing, testing and evaluating concepts, curricula, modules and teaching-learning formats.
2. Establishing theory-practice spaces: To promote a systematic integration of
theory and practice, the Computing Science Learning Lab is being further developed and expanded as a meeting place for trainee teachers and school pupils, as well as an out-of-school learning venue for Computing Science teachers.
