On Friday 10 July 2009, a total of 67 graduates from primary schools, secondary schools and grammar schools received their certificates from Konrad Barth (Lower Saxony State Office for Teacher Training and School Development - NiLS) at the University of Oldenburg.

Particularly successful examination papers were honoured by the deans of studies:

At the ceremony, the majority of students from the "old" teaching degree programmes were bid farewell. The future teachers were offered a varied programme in the university auditorium with cabaret (songwriter duo Spieltrieb, caretaker Heinz Hellriegel) and music by the University of Oldenburg's jazz ensemble under the direction of Prof. G. Bernhard F. Mergner as well as a rap interlude.
After words of welcome from the Vice President for Studies and Teaching Prof Dr Mathias Wickleder and the diz Director Prof Dr Dietmar von Reeken, student Danica Grade also had her say. Prof Dr Hilbert Meyer gave the speech for the teaching staff on the topic of "What makes a good teacher?".

A champagne reception in the foyer of the lecture hall centre brought the university ceremony to a cheerful close with the graduates, many lecturers and numerous guests.

The graduation ceremony was organised by the Didactic Centre (diz), School I - School of Educational and Social Sciences, the Teacher Training Student Body and the Lower Saxony State Office for Teacher Training and School Development.
