Graduation ceremonies on 10 Dec. 2010
On 10 December 2010, the graduates of the new "Master of Education" degree programmes were bid farewell in two consecutive ceremonies in the lecture hall centre of the University of Oldenburg. In the afternoon, the teaching graduates from primary and secondary schools and secondary modern schools received their certificates - in the early evening, the graduates from grammar schools and special education programmes were presented with their certificates.
A total of 85 students received their certificates at the ceremony for primary, lower secondary and intermediate secondary school students, and 90 students at the ceremony for grammar schools and special needs schools.
In her welcoming address, the Vice President for Studies and Teaching, Prof. Dr Gunilla Budde,
, recognised the special achievements of the graduates and was particularly pleased about the 19 outstanding Master's theses that were awarded prizes at these two ceremonies.
On behalf of the Didactic Centre, its director, Prof. Dr Dietmar von Reeken, warmly congratulated the graduates on their successful completion. Representatives from the School then honoured and awarded prizes for outstanding Master's theses.
The following graduates were honoured for their Master's theses:
- Education and Social Sciences:
Anuschka Horstmann (Primary and Secondary School) and
Daniela Jantzen and Oliesja Litau (Special Needs Education)
- School of Linguistics and Cultural Studies:
Lara Skruodies (primary and lower secondary school) and
Lars Hinrichs, Anna Maria Knus, Julia Nadine Kruska, Helena Nachtigal and Natalia Thobe
(all: grammar school)
- School of Humanities and Social Sciences:
Christina Mende (Realschule school type) and Dörte Eilers, Sarah Bredensteiner, Frank Schmekel, Britta Almut Wehen (all: Gymnasium school type)
- School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences:
Sina Wolter (Realschule type of school) as well as Marco Dammann, Stefanie Herzog, Holger Hinxlage and Maren Keese (all: Gymnasium type of school)
The popular university jazz ensemble under the direction of Prof. G. Bernhard F. Mergner provided the supporting programme for the ceremonies. Both events were rounded off musically by the songwriting duo Spieltrieb - two musicians who once studied to become teachers themselves.
A champagne reception in the foyer of the lecture hall centre brought the university's celebrations to a cheerful close with the graduates, many lecturers and numerous guests.
