Working title of the doctoral projectMobility education and STEM learning in the context of sustainable development.
Investigation of processes of non-formal learning in learning programmes for young people in the informal space of the Autostadt
Abstract
Mobility is a key problem of global development. On the one hand, mobility means social participation and, on the other hand, unsustainable resource and energy consumption of the highly mobile lifestyle of industrialised countries. Technical innovations and the use of technology are part of this debate. The Autostadt is an informal learning centre where visitors can engage with these topics. Exhibitions, events and workshops encourage visitors to recognise individual mobility holistically and as a challenge for global contexts. In this doctoral thesis, I am focussing on technical education for young people as part of this holistic understanding of education with the aim of sustainable development. To this end, the learning opportunities in the field of STEM are analysed using the data-based research approach.
