About the person / career
Dr Lutz Martin Keppeler has been a solicitor since 2013, has worked at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Cologne office since 2014, and advises on all aspects of data protection law, IT law and telecommunications law. In 2017, Dr Keppeler was awarded the title of Specialist Lawyer in Information Technology Law, and in 2023 he was appointed an equity partner.
Since the winter semester of 2018, Dr Keppeler has been giving a lecture on data protection law at the Technical University of Cologne. Dr Keppeler works particularly intensively at the interface between technology and law, for example in the areas of IT contract law, IT security law, open-source licensing law, data protection law and the currently emerging field of artificial intelligence law. In all the aforementioned areas of law, he is active both in out-of-court proceedings and in litigation, and represents clients before various regulatory authorities (particularly in the fields of data protection law, telecommunications law and IT security law). Dr Keppeler regularly gives lectures on all these topics and publishes on them in both German and English.
