have achieved level B2.2 in the German placement test.
Course content and learning objectives
This general German language course builds on the knowledge acquired in German Course 7 and forms the transition from independent to competent use of the German language. The starting point for the work is challenging and longer written and oral texts. In the area of productive skills, participants learn to express themselves appropriately, well-structured and in detail on complex topics, using various means of text linking appropriately. The skills of reading, listening, speaking, writing, grammar and regional studies are taught in an integrated manner.
Tests during the course ("portfolio")
A portfolio is compiled over the course of the semester. Grades and ECTS/credit points are awarded on the basis of the following components of the portfolio: written work, oral examination, final test (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary).
Course requirements
To receive a certificate of attendance, you must be present for at least 80% of the course duration.
If you also complete the portfolio with a total of at least 60%, you will have passed the course and can receive 6 ECTS/KP ("graded certificate"). Please note that ECTS/credit points are not divisible. However, whether and how many credit points you will be awarded depends on the examination regulations for your degree programme.
In the event of illness (your own illness or that of your child) and upon presentation of a medical certificate, absences will be excused.
Serious tardiness will be counted as absences.
If your attendance is below 80% but not below 50%, you may participate in the portfolio but will not receive a certificate or ECTS/KP.
