Entrance examination 2016 (application deadline expired)
Admission to the Bachelor's degree programme in Art and Media is governed by admissions regulations (PDF). This provides for an entrance examination for the subject "Art and Media".
The entrance examination consists of a practical and a theoretical task, which applicants must complete independently and submit to us by post (see address below).
The examination papers (written and practical),
the application form (can be found here) and
the curriculum vitae in tabular form
must be sent in duplicate (reproductions/copies). Please refrain from sending originals, as we are unfortunately unable to return the examination papers.
The following criteria serve as the basis for the assessment of both parts of the examination in accordance with the admissions regulations: Ability to articulate, ability to reflect and independence.
We do not require your Abitur certificate; you must present this to the Admissions office when you enrol!
Your application must be sent by 1 June - postmark date of receipt - (no registered post please!) of the year of admission to:

There is a selection of three theoretical and three practical tasks (please select and work on one each):
Practical task
Select one of the following three topics and create a multi-part series (consisting of at least 3 works). The practical task can be solved in different media (sculptural objects, photography, drawing, video, performance, collage, etc.). Sculptural works, performances etc. must be submitted as photo or video documentation.
The presentation should not exceed DIN A4 format. If submitted in digital form as a CD-Rom, a maximum viewing time of five minutes is allowed.

Theoretical task
Select one of the following three tasks and create a text for it. The theoretical task must be submitted in paper format (A4) with a maximum of 8,000 characters including spaces (corresponds to approx. 3 pages).
If you use sources (Internet, newspaper articles, etc.), please indicate them.
Tasks for selection:
1. comment on a review of a current exhibition or film of your choice.
2. write an essay about a work of art that you think deals with the topic of politics.
3. write a text about an artistic exploration of the topic:

- Added value
