PRACTICAL TASK

Create a collection of at least ten images for one of these pictures. At least five of the images must be self-created (drawing, painting, print, collage, sculpture, object, installation, photography, film, performance). Three-dimensional works and performances must be documented either photographically or on film in the form of an enclosed DVD (max. 3 min.). The image collection can draw on motifs from film, print and online media, your everyday life or from art.

The collection should not exceed DIN A4 format.

 

THEORETICAL TASK

Select one of the following three tasks and create a text for it. The theoretical task must be submitted in paper format (DIN A4) with a maximum of 8,000 characters including spaces (corresponds to approx. 3 pages).

Topics for selection:

1. comment on a review of a current exhibition or film of your choice.

2. write an essay about a work of art that you think deals with the subject of politics.

3. write a dialogue about one of the three linked pictures between two people, one of whom cannot see the picture and does not know it.

 

Admission to the Bachelor's degree programme "Art and Media" is regulated by admissions regulations (PDF). This provides for an entrance examination for the subject "Art and Media".

The entrance examination consists of a practical and a theoretical task, which applicants must complete independently and submit to us by post (see address below).

should be sent in duplicate (reproductions/copies). Please refrain from sending originals, as we are unfortunately unable to return the examination papers.

We do not require your Abitur certificate; you must present this to the Admissions office when you enrol!
