The prize in the "Best Event" category went to Prof Dr Christian Busse and Satwant Dahiya from the Department of Business, Economics and Law for their event "Sustainable Supply Chain Management". The event offered plenty of scope for reflection and discussion of the different perspectives on the topic of sustainability and the design of value chains. One starting point was the intensive study of case studies.

The jury's reasoning:

  • Concept of the inverted classroom, a reversal of classic frontal teaching, implemented in an exemplary manner as a didactic challenge
  • Variety of methods with integration of self-created case studies
  • Promotion of diversity and reflection of different perspectives and opinions in the context of sustainability and business
  • Continuous further development of the module based on student feedback

A presentation of the award-winning teaching concept can be found on the poster.

Category: Research-based learning

In the "Dilemmas of Sustainability" research workshop run by Sophie Berg and Dr Hendrik Wolter, students learned how to design, plan and organise a research project in the field of dilemmas of sustainability. Central to this was the realisation of an intensive "research week".

The jury's statement:

  • Clear structure of the course makes the research process transparent and tangible for the students
  • Regular and close feedback loops from lecturers and students
  • Lasting effect of the course (establishment of an independent module,
    improved preparation for final theses)
  • Transfer of the concept and the methods used (e.g. World Café) to other
    departments is highly conceivable

A presentation of the award-winning teaching concept can be found on the poster.
