On 19 June 2026, the Else Kröner Symposium will take place under the motto Research meets Clinic meets Research at the PFL cultural centre in Oldenburg. With a focus on translational research, researchers from School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences from all career stages will have the opportunity to present themselves and their research and to network across departments and disciplines. In this interactive workshop, we will look at the essential aspects of successful supervision of research/master's theses and doctoral dissertations. Our aim is to provide you with the necessary tools and knowledge to strengthen your supervision concept and to optimally support your students/doctoral candidates.


Learning outcomes:

  1. Criteria of good supervision: you will be able to identify the key features of effective supervision, including individualised support, clear communication and timely support.
  2. Giving effective feedback: You will learn how to give constructive and accurate feedback that will/promoters inspires and encourages their progress.
  3. Dealing with conflict: We will work together to develop practices to resolve conflicts in the supervision process in a purposeful and constructive way to maintain a positive working atmosphere.
