Symposium in memory of Hilbert Meyer

Friday, 13.11.2026 - 9 am to 6 pm

Aula of the University of Oldenburg (A11 0-009)

Hilbert Meyer passed away in December 2025. Right up until the end of his life, he was actively involved in Oldenburg, Germany and internationally in the discourse on didactics, in school and teaching development, and in teacher training. We miss him!

Together with you all, we would like to remember Hilbert, share stories, honour his legacy and build on his work. We invite you to a symposium featuring presentations and sessions that place critical, collaborative and action-oriented exchange at the centre, thereby enabling us to remember Hilbert Meyer with our minds, hearts and hands: people-oriented, thorough in his work, interested in dialogue, and open to creativity and the unconventional.

We will gradually be providing further information about the event on these symposium pages.

The event is limited to 250 participants; we recommend registering as soon as possible by 30 September 2026 at the latest. A fee of 30 EUR will be charged to cover costs. Please use the following link to submit your binding registration :
