Final theses
All members of the department supervise MA theses in educational science. BA theses cannot be written in Educational Sciences. General information on Master's theses can be found here.
Selection of examiners: Please refer to the staff members' pages for information on their research focus. These are either explicitly listed. However, you can also find them out from the bibliographies. Then select examiners who match your intended topic.
Enquiry: If you ask lecturers to supervise your Master's thesis, this should be done on the basis of an initial brainstorming session. When you make contact with potential supervisors, enclose a document with a collection of ideas, preferably already with an exposé (1-2 pages), with your enquiry email. This should contain
1. research question = what are you interested in? Which topics are relevant to your research and which are not? You should actually formulate a set of questions with question marks.
2. research field = Where do you want to conduct your research?
3. research method = How do you want to proceed with your research and which scientific methods do you want to use?
Initial consultation: In an initial consultation, we will discuss with you the limitations, perspectives or alternatives for your Master's thesis. We will advise you on your research question, a research field, a suitable method and suitable literature.
Scientific work: When writing your Master's thesis, please note the information on academic writing.
