Master's thesis honoured with the CVA Foundation Prize

We congratulate Carina Indorf and Karina Lübbers on winning third place in the CVA Foundation Prize!

3rd place in the CVA Foundation Prize: Award for master's thesis on augmentative and alternative communication

We would like to congratulate Karina Lübbers and Carina Indorf on winning 3rd place at the award ceremony organised by the Caritas-Verein Altenoythe Foundation. The prize was awarded for their Master's thesis entitled "Augmentative and Alternative Communication in children and adolescents with neurological, endocrinological or general paediatric disorders in everyday school and clinical practice".

The thesis, supervised by Prof Andrea Erdélyi and Franziska Brucke, is embedded in a multi-year research project on the development of communication aids for the clinical context and represents a consistent continuation of the previously developed foundations as part of a joint bachelor's thesis. The centre of the project was the optimisation and implementation of a symbol-based communication folder for everyday clinical practice. Testing with nursing staff in the field and the additional involvement of special education teachers illuminated the possible uses of this UK clinic folder from multiple perspectives - with high innovative value for practice and research.

As a specialist group, we are delighted to receive this award and congratulate the two authors on their success!
