Dr Philipp Nicolay and Paula Hammer present contributions from current research projects

Dr Philipp Nicolay and Paula Hammer attended the spring conference of the "Empirical Special Education Research Working Group" in May, where they presented papers on selected research projects together with other colleagues from other universities.

Together with colleagues Dr Jule Eilts and Prof. Dr Tijs Bolz, Paula Hammer gave a presentation entitled "Agreement and judgement bias in teacher assessment of internalising and externalising problems: a comparison between special and mainstream schools" with data from her doctoral project.
Together with Prof. Dr. Tijs Bolz and Prof. Dr. Christian Huber, Dr. Philipp Nicolay gave a lecture entitled "Do conflicts in the teacher-student relationship mediate the connection between deficits in social-cognitive information processing and bullying or victimisation". Philipp Nicolay also presented a poster in collaboration with Dr Jule Eilts and Dr Jessica Wilke.
The presentations were followed by exciting and enriching exchanges with the colleagues on site. We had a good time in Leipzig and look forward to the next conferences.

We would like to thank Jule Eilts for managing the professorship of our department in the winter semester 2025/2026. It was great that you were back with us in Oldenburg and that we were able to work together on site again!
Dr Jule Eilts will be taking up a position at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich in the Chair of Special Education with a focus on emotional and social development and autism on 1 April 2026. We wish her all the best. We look forward to continuing to work together on various projects and will remain in contact.

Farewell to Prof Dr Tijs Bolz

Our long-standing and highly valued colleague Tijs Bolz has been appointed to the full professorship "Special Education with a focus on emotional and social development and autism" at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and will be leaving the University of Oldenburg in March.
Tijs has been a research assistant in our department since 2015 and has also taken on many other tasks in the Institute. He has played a major role in shaping the department and has always endeavoured to further develop teaching and create a good learning atmosphere for students. You will be missed here - even if we remain in close collegial and friendly dialogue. Thank you for all your work, your commitment to the department and, above all, your appreciation of colleagues and students. We wish you all the best for and in Munich!
