Senate election 2025: ver.di/MTV
Dear colleagues,
We are experiencing turbulent times of social upheaval, in which many things are not only changing for the better. This development can also be observed at the university. Therefore, a strong union representation of interests is needed to counteract this. We are committed to this in the University Senate and ask for your support!
Because we want to shape the university's growth process with our voice in the University Senate in the interests of all employees. One thing is clear: all decisions, from the possible expansion as a University of Excellence and the establishment of new degree programmes to the establishment of new research focuses, also have an impact on the working conditions of employees in technology and administration (MTV). This is why we must and want to play a critical role in the university's development and constructively help shape the new challenges. This includes the digitalisation processes of teaching, research and administration, ensuring adequate working conditions for our status group, the design of on-site and mobile work/telework (e.g. 2 days of mobile work) or the further development of the equal opportunities plan, as well as issues relating to the internal constitution of the university. We reject changes to the university charter in which the University Senate itself curtails its remaining competences.
We want
- advocate an increase in basic funding for universities compared to competitive funding so that more permanent jobs can be created,
- reduce unnecessary bureaucratic processes and make work easier through sensible digitalisation,
- achieve a more appreciative management culture,
- achieve more working time autonomy for employees - in the home office and when working on site,
- greater democratisation of the university and more co-determination for other status groups beyond professors,
- advocate equal opportunities for men and women and the elimination of discrimination,
- campaign for more social justice and equal opportunities.
