During my first few years as a research assistant, I worked on various national and international projects, and later (from around 2011 onwards) I consistently held the role of project leader. Since November 2016, my role has centred on, amongst other things, delivering courses, providing academic advisory support for the Master’s programme in Business Informatics, securing and coordinating projects, contributing to the design and further development of the curriculum, and the academic and organisational planning and development of the degree programme. I am also involved in university self-governance.

• March 2015–December 2018 In collaboration with three partner institutions, the ‘DEMIS: Doctoral Education in EMIS’ project established an international doctoral programme and network focusing on environmental information systems.

• 03/2015–12/2015 As part of the ‘EMIS Sub-Saharan’ project, curricula were developed in the field of corporate environmental information systems. The development of the curricula was also based on a survey of local companies and graduates from the participating partner universities, in order to create module content tailored to local needs that took into account both the field of sustainable production and the employability of graduates.

• 10/2013–06/2017 The Erasmus Mundus project ‘eurekaSD – Enhancing University Research and Education in Areas Useful for Sustainable Development’ offered a total of 315 scholarships for research stays related to the field of sustainable development.

• 10/2013–09/2016 The Erasmus Mundus project “Electra – Enhancing Learning in ENPI Countries through Clean Technologies and Research-Related Activities” offered 248 scholarships for research stays relating to the fields of the environment, energy and sustainable development.

• April 2011–October 2014 As part of the ‘IT-for-Green: Environmental, Energy and Resource Management with Next-Generation BUIS’ project, three interlinked modules were designed and implemented. These cover the entire product life cycle, from measuring the energy efficiency of the ICT used, through production/logistics and sustainable product development, to corporate communications and sustainability reporting.

• 05/2010–10/2010 As part of the short-term project “Data Exchange/InXS II”, the methods developed in the project “DEMS VPP 2.0: Design of Data Exchange between Plant Controllers and Schedule Managers”.

• 03/2010–06/2012 During the “Solution and Services Engineering for Measuring, Monitoring, and Management of Organisations’ Environmental Performance Indicators (OEPI)”, a comprehensive software solution for recording environmental performance indicators was developed in close collaboration with renowned industry partners, enabling integrated, organisation-wide environmental management.

• 11/2009–04/2010 The appointment was made as part of the project “Competence and Research Transfer Network for BUIS – a Needs and Feasibility Study / ertemis”. ertemis is a research network in the field of Business Environmental Information Systems (BUIS). It brings together core competencies from a wide range of disciplines and has set itself the task of tackling new challenges in the field of environmental management in collaboration with its industry partners.

• 08/2008–12/2009 As part of the project “DEMS VPP 2.0: Design of data exchange between plant controllers and schedule managers’, formal methods were developed for the representation and compression of sets of feasible and target load profiles, as well as feed-in profiles for efficient transmission between decentralised generators and decentralised, controllable consumers on the one hand, and a central schedule manager on the other.

• 07/2007–05/2009 The appointment was made as part of the externally funded project ‘Elan III – Decentralised Energy Systems’. A teaching consortium was established between the Universities of Braunschweig, Clausthal and Oldenburg, and the cross-campus e-learning module ‘Decentralised Energy Systems’ was developed and delivered as a blended-learning programme.

• 11/2006–09/2007 The main focus here was on creating a conceptual and technical framework for the collection and appropriate provision of electricity consumption data from relevant individual consumers for the ZentrumZukunft in Emstek.
