The 10th Young Scholars' Colloquium of the Association for Low German Language Research (VndS) will take place at the University of Oldenburg from 4 to 6 October 2021. Over the past ten years, the VndS-NwK has established itself as a successful exchange forum for young researchers working on the Low German language and literature as well as related topics. This year, the conference will be held online for the second time.
The thematic spectrum is broad and includes contributions on the Low German language area as well as on other regional linguistic areas of German. We welcome proposals on dialectology, regional language research and historical linguistics as well as literary and cultural studies papers on older and more recent Low German literature and other regions if aspects of the dialectal are part of the subject matter. Primarily theory- and method-related topics will also be included in the conference's cross-linguistic discussion.
From advanced student work to post-doctoral projects, all types of projects are welcome to participate. Both completed studies and works in progress can be presented. We especially invite students to present their final theses and research projects!
Presentations are 20 minutes long with an additional ten minutes for discussion. Presentation proposals (title and an abstract of max. 500 words) are requested by 15 July 2021 to the email address . Participation without own contribution is also welcome. In this case, please register by email to the above address by 25 September 2021. A conference fee will not be charged. We look forward to numerous and diverse presentation proposals!
