WiRe-Ersti Buddy Programme
Hello and a warm welcome to all first-year students at the WiRe Department of the University of Oldenburg!
We – Kim and Lena – are your freshers’ buddies and are here to help with any questions you may have about your studies during your first semester (e.g. registering for modules, deciding which modules to choose, or any uncertainties regarding the management of studies). We are part of the Department’s specialist academic advisory service WiRe and will support you alongside your academic adviser, Dr Mareike Junker. The Freshers’ Buddy Programme is aimed at first-semester students on the B.A. Business Administration and Law, B.A. Economics and Business Administration, and M.A. Business Administration degree programmes.
If you have any questions or would like to have a chat, simply send us an email at If required, we can also speak in person (by telephone, via an online meeting or on the campus).
Throughout the semester, we’ll also be offering various information and discussion sessions to help you find your feet and guide you through important topics. You’ll receive up-to-date information on these in good time via your University of Oldenburg email address and through our Stud.IP information group.

My name is Lena Riesenbeck and I am your first-year buddy on the Business Administration and Law degree programme. I completed the Business Administration and Law degree programme in 2025 and am now in my third semester of the Master’s in Business Administration: Management and Law (specialising in Business Law) at the University of Oldenburg.

My name is Kim Steinhüser and I’m your first-year buddy on the Economics and Business Administration degree programme. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration this year (2026) and am now studying for a Master’s in Business Administration: Management and Law at the University of Oldenburg.
