Biography

After studying industrial engineering at TU Darmstadt, Prof Dr Michael Klafft initially worked for the "Gesellschaft für Produktionssysteme" in Stuttgart, where he dealt with issues such as mobile data collection and use in the production environment. He then moved to the Institute for Information Systems at HU Berlin, where he also completed his doctorate. Here, his work focussed on questions of technology acceptance in ubiquitous computing and Internet-based procurement platforms for consumers. Since 2007, Klafft has worked for various Institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, of which he was a member of the Scientific and Technical Council from 2010 to 2011. In teaching, Klafft initially represented the subject of business informatics as a professor at the FOM University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
