Development and research projects
2002-2004
Development of an independent and scientifically based concept for improving the quality of teaching and schools. The concept is available under the title: "Qualitätsentwicklung in Unterricht und Schule. The Oldenburg Concept" (Oldenburg, 2nd edition 2004). It comprises the following modules: Module 1: What should pupils learn - On the specification of graded competences (Hanna Kiper), Module 2: Variety of methods and methodological competence (Hilbet Meyer, Liane Paradies, Christel Wopp), Module 3: Learning and teaching strategies in heterogeneous groups (differentiation) (Wolfgang Mischke), Module 4: Error analysis, diagnostics and support planning (Wolfgang Mischke) and Module 5: Development of teaching quality as the core of school development (Franz Wester). The Oldenburg concept (cf. the introduction to the overall concept by Hanna KIper) was the basis for the further training of teachers to become school development moderators. It aimed to enable teachers to use teaching and school development processes to comprehensively substantiate the quality areas identified in the school quality orientation framework and was carried out by the respective authors of the modules. The training programme was funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education.
2009
Didactic perspectives: Acquiring competences through learning tasks (Klee), funded by the MWK Lower Saxony
The research project was funded by the MWK Lower Saxony in 2009 as part of an initiative to strengthen specialised didactics. Subject didactics and educational sciences are faced with the joint task of contributing to the development of competence-oriented teaching, i.e. thinking about the development of knowledge, skills and understanding across the school years as well as optimising teaching and learning processes in the classroom and improving the teaching culture. This raises the question of what role tasks play in this.
2011-2013
Teaching-learning labs and their significance for schools and teacher training
As part of the Stifterverband für die Wissenschaft competition entitled "From the university to the classroom: New ways of cooperation between universities and teacher training centres in teacher training", the university was selected and funded with its "Northwest pilot project: Development of diagnosis and support skills in the classroom and in teaching-learning laboratories" (OLAW). The pilot project was dedicated to dovetailing teacher training in the educational sciences, biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics and also emphasised teaching-learning laboratories.
