FAQ
Who can I contact?
A person affected can contact a person of trust of their choice, regardless of status group and institute affiliation. They know about the possible procedures in the Institutes, the School and at the University and can, if desired, accompany the first steps.
The discussions held with the counsellors are confidential and should take place at an agreed time and place that allows for confidentiality.
What happens during the conversation with the counsellor?
The confidential counsellors offer a low-threshold point of contact in cases of sexualised violence, harassment, discrimination or academic misconduct.
Confidants remain neutral and do not actively act as mediators in cases of conflict. The conversation is really a conversation in which you find someone who will listen to you and to whom you can confide your concerns without anything more having to happen. The confidants can, if you wish, give you tips on where you can find further help.
Is the conversation confidential?
The discussions held with the counsellors are confidential and will take place at an agreed time and place that allows for confidentiality. The aim of a confidential discussion between a person concerned and a person of trust is to make an initial assessment of what the problem is.
