Training sessions are a fundamental part of an IT security strategy. During these sessions, users are informed about the most important IT security rules and, where relevant, any recent IT security incidents, and are given the opportunity to ask their own questions. A training session (available as a PDF in English and German ) thus complements the basic rules.

The ICBM IT department offers regular IT security training sessions in a hybrid format every third week of the month, usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays. These sessions are held alternately in German and English. Each presentation lasts 25 minutes, followed by time for questions of any kind.

The upcoming dates for 2026 are:

All new staff members are required to attend one of the regular IT security training sessions at the ICBM within their first three months. All staff members are required to attend one of the regular training sessions once per calendar year.

‘Staff’ here refers to employees on a UOL employment contract as well as students completing their final thesis at the ICBM.
