Social Program of SCAN 2025

SCAN 2025 will offer a wide range of social activities that will allow participants to interact in a relaxed atmosphere.

Among others, we have planned the following activities:

Excursion to the WindLab of the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg

One of the centerpieces of ForWind’s wind energy research is the research building “Laboratory for Turbulence and Wind Energy Systems” (WindLab) on the campus of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. A unique feature is the turbulence wind tunnel, which can be used to generate realistic turbulent wind fields and wind speeds of up to 150 kilometers per hour. With the so-called active grid, more than 1,000 flaps can be controlled and aligned in such a way that targeted turbulence and wind gusts can be generated: link

Excursion to Bad Zwischenahn

Zwischenahner Meer is a lake in Ammerland, Lower Saxony, Germany. The lake is famous for sailing, boating, and other recreational activities. It emerged around 11,000 years ago as the consequence of the collapse of a salt dome.

During our excursion, we will have a ship cruise on the Zwischenahner Meer.

Conference Dinner at Scholjegerdes Hof (Bad Zwischenahn)

The conference dinner is planned to be organized at Scholjegerdes Hof in Bad Zwischenahn. The registration fee of SWIM will cover the dinner. However, it will be necessary that participants will cover expenses for drinks by themselves.
