Basic AI training for lecturers and students is now available

The UOL is providing a basic AI-training course on Stud.IP to equip teaching staff and students with fundamental knowledge of AI in relation to technology, law and ethics, in accordance with Article 4 of the AI Act.

Teachers and students who use AI tools provided by the UOL as part of their teaching or studies, such as ChatAI, are required to complete this training. The training takes approximately 60–90 minutes to complete (excluding the duration of the embedded videos). This training does not constitute training in AI-tools. For advanced AI application skills, lecturers and students can, for example, make use of the free resources offered by KI-Campus.

The basic training is generally also suitable for administrative and technical staff (MTV). Alternatively, there are introductory courses specifically tailored to MTV staff, offered as online seminars with guided practical exercises by PEOE (seminar title: ‘Qualifizierung der Beschäftigten zur Nutzung von KI in der Hochschulverwaltung’).

The basic AI training course was made available to universities in Lower Saxony through the “Digital Teaching Hub Lower Saxony” (DLHN) project and is continuously being further developed and adapted to the needs of the UOL by the Stabsstelle Universitätsstrategie - Schwerpunkt Lehre. Further information on the training and AI-related topics can be found on the unit’s website.
