The 47th KLGH (Conference of Lecturers in Special Education for People with Intellectual Disabilities at Universities in German-speaking Countries), with the theme “Special Education Focus: Intellectual Development in Flux?!”, took place from 4 to 6 June 2026 at the University of Regensburg.
Our colleagues Dr Sarah Laßmann, Katharina Kuhlmann, Barbara Klaus-Karwisch, Franziska Brucke, Jette Schreiber, Dr Jan Jochmaring and Prof. Teresa Sansour were able to gain a wide range of professional insights at this conference and discuss key issues in special educational research in the field of intellectual development with colleagues.
As part of a poster presentation, Jette Schreiber presented her doctoral project on the topic
“More than just small talk?! Informal conversational opportunities for teachers in the field of intellectual development – Ethnographic research on collegial communication in everyday educational practice”.
Dr Jan Jochmaring and Prof. Teresa Sansour from the GE Inclusive specialist group organised the panel “The transition from school to work for pupils in the field of intellectual development – persistence or change?”.
