Automation of an irrigation machine

Automation of an irrigation machine

Background

In agriculture, the irrigation of agricultural land is of central importance. Good irrigation
increases the yield, but also causes management effort and
therefore costs. There are different approaches to realising irrigation. The
so-called irrigation machine is an irrigation system which, as the name suggests,
is often used to irrigate areas. For this purpose, it winds up a manually
laid hose connected to the water supply, atomises the incoming
water and thus simultaneously irrigates the area along the hose. In contrast
to other irrigation systems, it is characterised by its flexible use, as
no fixed installation is required in addition to the water connection.

Job description

The repetitive and tedious work involved in repositioning the irrigation machine is to be saved by automating the irrigation machine accordingly. Automation also enables the irrigation machine to record the irrigation sessions independently. This supports the operator of the irrigation machine in the planning and monitoring of irrigation.
