Various benchmarks are available for the evaluation of distributed file systems. However, some of these are outdated, so that they are of little value for today's requirements. With regard to replicated file systems in particular, there is no good test that illustrates the advantages and disadvantages of replication.

As part of the work, different distributed file systems(NFSv3, NVSv4 plus replication, NFSv4, CIFS) are to be compared with each other. For this purpose, a corresponding framework is to be designed, with the help of which various benchmarks can be executed on different distributed file systems in different configurations and then evaluated.
