PUUK - Platform for the needs-based provision of environmental information by companies and local authorities with citizen participation
The provision of environmental information is becoming increasingly important against the backdrop of growing social awareness of environmental and climate protection issues, as is currently reflected in the results of the European elections, among other things.
However, both companies and local authorities are largely unclear as to whether the information provided is actually of interest to the addressees. In order for environmental data to contribute to solving current problems, the required information must be comprehensible for the addressees (especially local citizens) and address the issues relevant to them. However, little is known about the specific needs of citizens with regard to environmental information systems.
The aim of this project is the prototypical development of a platform for the needs-based provision of environmental information from companies and local authorities (PUUK) to citizens.
A special feature of this project is the additional determination of citizens' information needs, as discussions with companies and local authorities, including within the framework of the working group of the Lower Saxony Government Commission "Environmental Policy in Times of Digital Change", have shown that citizens' needs are often not recorded or even known.
The project is funded by the DBU (German Federal Environmental Foundation) with the funding code: 35152/01.
