Going to university with professional experience
There are various admission requirements for part-time degree programmes. To apply for a place on a Master’s programme, you will need one year’s professional experience. You must also provide evidence of a degree (for example, a Bachelor’s degree, a Diplom, a State Examination or a Magister).
For Bachelor’s programmes, in addition to work experience, you are required to have a university entrance qualification or vocational training. Alongside the Abitur, there are now a wide range of other options. After completing a three-year vocational training programme followed by three years’ work experience, you will have a subject-specific university entrance qualification. You can also gain university entrance qualifications through the so-called ‘Z-Prüfung’ on the basis of your professional experience or recognised vocational training. Further information on alternative routes into Bachelor’s programmes can be found on the page for the part-time Bachelor’s programme in Business Administration.
