Information session – What is ICUR?
The‘What is ICUR?’ introductory courses are led by the ICUR team at the University of Warwick and the Student Directors, and will provide you with everything you need to know before submitting an application. They offer an ideal opportunity to ask the team any questions you may have – without holding back, as there are no ‘silly’ questions! At the same time, you’ll get a good sense of whether ICUR is the right opportunity for you before you join the programme.
Workshops on writing abstracts
Perhaps you have already attended conferences – or perhaps you are still unsure exactly what an abstract is? Whatever your previous experience, our abstract-writing workshops will provide you with all the tools you need to write a compelling research abstract for the ICUR conference.
We’ll discuss the purpose of an interdisciplinary abstract and how to keep your target audience in mind; we’ll look at structure and content and talk about how to clearly convey complex ideas within a limited word count; and together we’ll explore the characteristics of a strong conference abstract. By the end of the session, you will have an outline for an abstract on your own research topic, as well as all the materials you need to develop this further for submission to ICUR.

Have you already been working on your abstract – but are feeling a bit unsure, a bit lost or not particularly confident? Or are you thinking about submitting a paper to ICUR, but haven’t found the time to do so yet?
Our Abstract Writing Boot Camps offer you the chance to set aside some time and focus entirely on your ICUR submission. At the same time, you can ask questions directly via Teams and receive personalised support from the ICUR team in real time.
