module description
The core areas of the Master’s programme in Integrated Media are the art- and music-related courses offered by the Institute of Music and the Institute of Art and Visual Culture, particularly the modules inm710: Artistic and Technical Media Competence and inm760: Media Experiments and Mediation. The programme focuses on practical exercises in multimedia, image/video, editing/sound and sound processing, resulting in the creation of artistic-technical productions and/or academic-artistic works.
Media theory modules with a focus on visual media or a focus on auditory media (inm720/730) are offered as compulsory elective modules. To facilitate academic diversity and necessary specialisations, students may make a selection from the aforementioned modules, although each module also incorporates intermedia aspects.
Courses relating to inm750: Media Economics and Media Law are supplemented by courses offered by School II - School of Computing Science, Business Administration, Economics, and Law.
The module inm740: Media Analysis is offered as a specialisation module . It addresses the complex forms of analysis of visual and auditory elements in specific media contexts (e.g. film music, sound design, radio drama music, music videos, musicals, performances, theatre productions, video installations, and integrative phenomena in media art).
The area of specialisation (foreign languages, key skills) forms part of the curriculum. Internships and the accompanying courses are included within this area of specialisation.
