Teaching and theses
Teaching and theses
In our teaching, we offer a wide range of practice-oriented courses in order to transfer our scientific findings into professionalisation.
The aim is to train future special needs teachers*to sensitise and qualify future special needs teachers to the challenges and potential of inclusive education for pupils with support needs in physical and motor development and chronic illnesses.
On the following pages you will find information on our current range of courses and possible topics for final theses.
Creative Design with Simple Materials (sop451)
As part of the sop451 module , ‘Special Educational Skills in Creative Design’, the focus this semester is on creating art using simple materials . Students are experimenting with different materials, techniques and forms of expression, and have developed their own pieces of work during the seminar. The aim is not only to produce creative outcomes, but also to explore how creative activities can beplanned to suit specific target groups, implemented in a differentiated manner and reflected upon. The resulting works demonstrate a wide range of possibilities for stimulating creativity, perception, expression and participation using simple creative methods.
Pedagogy and Didactics in Chronic and Progressive Diseases (sop628)
On the Master of Education in Special Education programme, students deepen their pedagogical and didactic skills in working with pupils with chronic and progressive illnesses as part of the sop628 module, ‘Didactics and Professional Practice in the KME Special Educational Needs Area’. Students reflect on how teaching and learning materials, classroom settings, digital media and support services can be adapted to individual needs. The issues addressed range from the disease-sensitive design of teaching and learning processes and participation in school life to end-of-life care for pupils with progressive illnesses. The module provides a space for professional discussion, pedagogical planning and personal reflection on sensitive yet highly relevant topics in school practice.
Research-based learning projects (sop648)
As part of the Master’s module ‘sop648 – Research-based Learning in the FSP kmE’, students develop independent academic research projects. A poster presentation for interested guests from the Institute of Special Education marks the special conclusion of the module. Detailed information and an overview of the project topics undertaken by students during the last winter semester can be found here.
