Contents
The main aim of the sub-conference "Use of business software in teaching" is to offer researchers and practitioners a forum for exchanging information on innovations, experiences and innovative utilisation concepts in the context of the use of business application and information systems in teaching. In terms of content, the focus is on solutions such as ERP, CRM, SCM and SRM systems. The sub-conference will also focus on the use of in-memory databases, big data scenarios and Industry 4.0 scenarios as well as their implementation in innovative teaching concepts with possible application examples. Cloud-based solutions can also be used. Interested authors are also encouraged to present new curricula and teaching materials in the form of a "research-in-progress contribution".
Possible topics for contributions
- New curricula for the use of business software (as a research-in-progress contribution)
- Effective training: New methods for content delivery (teaching methods)
- Web-based training, massive open online courses (MOOC), mobile and ubiquitous learning
- Concepts for the use of in-memory databases in teaching
- Education analytics: (teaching) evaluation and analysis of course and learning outcomes
- Use of cloud-based solutions in teaching
- Teaching concepts and implementation examples for big data and smart data
- Industry 4.0 in teaching (teaching concepts, application scenarios, implementation examples)
- Operating concepts and IT infrastructure providing for business software in teaching
- Transferability of teaching concepts into practice
Submission and review process
- Contributions can be written in German or English. English papers should be presented and discussed in English during the conference.
- All contributions must comply exactly with the MKWI 2016 document template. The document template is available for download at www.mkwi2016.de/download/MKWI2016_Word-Vorlage.dotx.
- The following forms of contributions are planned for our sub-conference: Full paper with 12 pages incl. bibliography. Research in Progress with 7 pages incl. bibliography
- As part of our sub-conference, it is explicitly desired to submit and present new curricula or teaching materials. These contributions should be submitted as research-in-progress contributions.
- Authors are requested to anonymise their contributions for the review process by omitting their name, address etc. from the contribution. All other information that could allow conclusions to be drawn about the authors, e.g. metadata, should also be deleted. The submission of the article for the review is to be made as a PDF document.
- Papers are submitted exclusively online via the conference system(www.mkwi2016.de/Einreichung).
- Each contribution can only be submitted for one sub-conference.
- All contributions will be reviewed by at least two members of the programme committee (double-blind).
Publication
All accepted full papers will be included in the conference proceedings. In our sub-conference, the authors of accepted full papers have the right to choose whether they are included in the conference proceedings in full or as an extended abstract (min. 2 and max. 4 pages incl. bibliography etc.). The conference proceedings will be made available to conference participants in electronic form (PDF/E-book). For an additional charge, participants can also obtain a printed copy of the conference proceedings (book-on-demand, exact price information to be announced).
Research-in-Progress papers will not be included in the conference proceedings but will be made available to conference participants via the conference website. During the review process, it will be decided whether research-in-progress papers will be presented as oral or poster presentations. The publication of a paper and its inclusion in the conference programme requires that at least one author has registered for the conference and paid the conference fee.
