Pig farming and its upstream and downstream sectors are currently undergoing profound technical, logistical, social and economic structural change. In addition, there are increasing demands from society, trade and control authorities for greater regionalization, greater transparency and faster traceability in the value chain pig production with regard to food safety and animal and consumer protection. An essential prerequisite for this is a well-functioning data exchange between all parties involved in the chain, which, in view of advancing digitalization, holds great potential for optimization across the value chain.
Aim of the project
Based on the DigiSchwein experimental field, the TiPP project pursues the following goals as a region of the future:
- Optimization of transparency and traceability from farm to fork in a regional VAC for pork using digital strategies.
- Testing of as yet unexplored digital concepts in livestock farming, including their technological foundations, on the basis of practice-relevant use cases to derive representative transparency indices for consumers
- Technology and knowledge transfer to agricultural extension and practice, upstream and downstream sectors as well as rural areas
