Empowering Adolescents and Teenagers to Navigate the Digital World Safely
Project description
The Erasmus+ project SafER-Web ("Empowering Adolescents and Teenagers to Navigate the Digital World Safely") aims to empower young people aged 12 to 18 to navigate the digital world safely, critically and confidently. The increasing use of social media, online platforms and chat services harbours considerable risks - from cyberbullying, grooming and sexting to phishing and disinformation. SafER-Web is responding to these challenges by developing AI-based learning and awareness-raising tools to help schools, families and young people across Europe build digital resilience.
The centrepiece is an interactive learning platform that uses gamification elements and AI-supported self-assessment to impart knowledge in a playful way, highlight risks and strengthen skills. In addition, teachers, parents and school administrators are involved in the work through training programmes and exchange platforms.
Project goals
The aim of the project is to promote digital skills and critical thinking among young people and thus provide preventive protection against dangers such as cyberbullying, grooming, sexting and phishing through age-appropriate education. To this end, an AI-supported self-assessment tool and a gamification-supported learning app will be developed to identify and avoid risky online behaviour. In addition, a Training & Awareness Hub will be set up to provide learning materials, guidelines and training content across Europe. In particular, this project will analyse and define the ethical framework for the use of AI in youth work and education. Finally, mental well-being in schools will be promoted by providing information and prevention on digital risks.
