The Centre for Business Intelligence is a Centre of Excellence within the Department of Computing Science and is intended to provide its partners with a platform for exchange and the implementation of joint projects. Preference is given to partners from the regional economy who are either active in the IT market themselves or who want to improve their own business intelligence strategies and solutions. By combining different partners from different sectors, core topics can be developed and established for individual sectors or in a generic approach across different sectors.

The close cooperation between the participating companies and the University of Oldenburg research institution enables innovative topics and solutions to be developed and processed. The combination of science and industry also results in a link between the conceptual, scientific treatment of topics and the transferability of new solutions into practice.

The Centre for Business Intelligence is intended to significantly strengthen Oldenburg as a research location as well as the competitiveness of the partners involved. Participation in such a project ultimately offers all partners the benefit of a high reputation in the field of business intelligence.
