The WISdoM 2.0 (Water Innovation Solution Management) project will address the following topics and develop solutions for the water industry in a research collaboration with the Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesischer Wasserverband (OOWV) until the end of 2023: Methods of data science and innovation management are to be tested and researched in the two core processes of customer management and maintenance, among others. From the first phase of the research cooperation, the two subject areas of creative laboratory and data and information management will be continued.

As an innovative water association, OOWV wants to actively exploit the opportunities offered by digitalisation. To this end, OOWV wants to receive further impetus from outside, but also set standards within the water industry itself. Successful formats from WISdoM 1.0, such as the project group, the business informatics internship and digitisation workshops with junior OOWV employees, will also be continued in WISdoM 2.0. New formats such as the Data Challenge, Tech Talks, a podcast and a new joint module are also being planned.

Through close co-operation with the University of Oldenburg, the aim is to clarify which measures can be meaningfully applied to the specific situation of the water industry in order to achieve a higher degree of digitalisation. Systematisation of data and information management, demand- and target-oriented development of digital skills and the establishment of innovation management have been identified as important objectives. The scientific findings on the development and implementation of the above-mentioned fields of action are to be pursued in concrete projects at OOWV following the co-operation.
