Awareness
To fulfil our goal of creating a more conscious and safer environment for everyone, we have also put together a great team for the BuFaTa in Bremen. To make it easier for you to recognise the team in case of doubt, we have organised some purple waistcoats in co-operation with BioNezt e.V..
They will also briefly introduce everyone in the opening plenary so that we have a face to look at. The main organisers will also introduce themselves properly below. If you have any questions, including general questions on the topic, please feel free to contact the three of them
our main awareness organisation
Hi there, I'm Kiki (she/you), 21 years old and studying B.Sc. Biosciences in Rostock. The BroFaTa will be my 3rd national conference, which is why I would like to help organise it and offer you all a pleasant environment. As part of the Awarness team, I helped organise an Awarness training course on 11.04. and will also be on site for you at the BroFaTa. Feel free to contact me, no matter where the shoe pinches you. I'm looking forward to a cool time with you
Hi I'm Anne (she/you), 21 years old and I'm studying in Würzburg in the 1st semester of my master's degree. I'm attending the BuFaTa for the 4th (?) time and I'm looking forward to being part of the awareness team and helping Kiki and Linda with the awareness organisation
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time and have a great time at the BuFaTa.
Hello, I'm Linda (she/you), 27 years old and I'm studying M.Sc. Biosciences in Würzburg in the 2nd semester.
This is my third BuFaTa and it's my first time on the BuFaTa awareness team. At the BuFaTas I've been to so far, awareness has not been implemented in the way I imagine it to be and as I know it from my own student body, which is why I'm really looking forward to working with Kiki, Anne and the rest of the team to ensure good cooperation in BrOldenburg.
Greetings and a kiss (consensual)
Like so many things, the term comes from the English "to be aware" and means to be aware; to be informed and sensitised.
As a concept, it is about dealing with personal, physical or bodily boundaries and working against any kind of discrimination.
It is also important to raise awareness of inequalities and existing power structures and to critically scrutinise them. Unfortunately, discriminatory and violent behaviour and attitudes are still deeply rooted in our patriarchal society and are therefore not isolated cases.
As BuFaTa Biology, we stand for an inclusive, non-discriminatory and non-violent coexistence that is characterised by an atmosphere of safety.
Our goal is to create a more conscious and safer environment for everyone. We want everyone to feel safe and welcome at our events.
We always define our own boundaries: what is a harmless welcoming hug for one person is an unwanted touch for another. We want to raise awareness of this by providing information and sensitising people. We are also available as contact persons if things don't go so smoothly.
During the BuFaTa, you can always easily recognise the current awareness crew by their purple awareness waistcoats. They will also introduce themselves at the opening plenary session so that you have seen them before. In addition, BioNetz has again provided us with two telephone numbers that you can use to contact the awareness team, or via which the team is represented in the WhatsApp community .
On site you will also find room plans and the awareness shift schedules so that everything runs smoothly. In addition to being reachable during the BuFaTa, you can also send general questions in advance by email to , or contact us via the 'anonymous' mailbox if you have direct problems.
In general, however, you can contact anyone from the Awareness Team, the BuFaTa organisation or the StAuB if you have any questions.
