Student body art and media
Hello hello, dear visitors!
In a more precise sense, the student body of Art refers to all students of Art and Media and their consecutive degree programmes.
We, the Student council, are the representatives for all those enrolled in the degree programmes Art and Media, Integrated Media, Museum and Exhibition, Art and Media Studies and Cultural Analysis.
In a more precise sense, this means that we are responsible for representation on the various university committees, communication within the Institute and, of course, for parties, social evenings, Christmas parties, etc.
Information for first-year students
Hello dear first-year students,
We, the Student Council for Art and Media, are your point of contact if you have any questions or problems regarding your studies. We represent the art students in various university committees, are involved in communication within the Institute, i.e. between lecturers and students, and of course also provide opportunities to meet, exchange ideas, chat or celebrate with other students of the subject. In addition to parties, Christmas celebrations and the orientation week programme, we are also involved in the organisation and implementation of our Institute's annual "Showtime".
We look forward to welcoming you to campus.
You can contact us via Stud.IP, email or Instagram. Of course, you are also invited to our regular student council meetings.
Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date.

OPEN CALL
The floor is yours!
Showtime 2026 is just around the corner, and as part of this event, you’ll have the opportunity to exhibit your work – including pieces created outside your seminar contexts – at frei_raum (A08-0-005)! In particular, on Wednesday at the opening and on Friday during the drinks evening, the works can then be celebrated in public.
All techniques are welcome – together we’re sure to find ways to ensure all your submitted works are displayed.
Until *26 June* – next Friday – you can drop off your works at our frei_raum space by prior arrangement.
We look forward to seeing you and your creations, and are of course available to answer any questions! :)
On Thursday 6 November at 6 p.m. in the frei_raum (A8 0 005), the Student Council for Art and Media will be newly elected. Would you like to join the Student Council or would you just like to have a look and see who is in the student body? Then come along to the election!
If you would like to find out more about how student council work actually works, you are welcome to come to our taster meeting on Wed 29 October from 4-6pm in the frei_raum (A8 0 005)!
We look forward to seeing lots of old and new faces!
Painting group: Portraits
We draw each other/model each other. Everything is possible, from quick drawing exercises to longer poses. Bring your favourite drawing materials! There is no set technique or drawing style!
The group is allowed to mould and manage itself. It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable and that there is room for individual exercises, which is why there are always at least 2 contact persons from the Student council Art and Media on site.
Each session lasts approx. 2 hours with a short coffee break in between. For dates and times, please join the study group.
Come along to the AfterShowTime bar night at *freitag*, *03.07.* at frei_raum and round off the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with a drink in hand!
Showtime will remain open until 8 pm, and as well as the exhibition in our space, there’ll be plenty of room to chat about the exhibits!
We look forward to seeing you there
IT’S SHOWTIME!

Exhibition opening: 1 July at 6 pm at Prinzenpark A8/A9. On Friday, we’ll also be hosting our bar evening with a cosy summer send-off, where you’re sure to bump into some of the students whose work is on display! You can find out more in our latest post :) – see you then!
