Application
The academic year at IIM Bangalore is divided into several terms. Term 4 (July to August), Term 5 (September to November) and Term 6 (December to February). Only students of Economics and Law who are studying for a Master's degree can apply to study tuition-free at IIM Bangalore for one or two terms.
Study
IIM Bangalore is one of the leading universities in the field of management and is therefore of great importance for the country and the region. Currently, there are about 100 full-time faculty members at IIM Bangalore. In addition, there are more than 1,200 students and 5,000 students in the institutional online continuing education programme (as of 2018).
The IIM in Bangalore is located in the high-tech capital of India and is therefore in close proximity to some of the country's leading companies, with whom there is lively collaboration. The fields of activity range from information technology to consumer goods companies. In addition to ten departments and five centres of excellence offering courses and research on issues of interest in various industries, IIM Bangalore has three faculty centres - the Centre for Management Communication, the Centre for Public Policy and the NS Raghavan Centre for Learning in Diverse Enterprises. In addition, a Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has been set up to promote research and practice to improve the teaching effectiveness of faculty members.
Everyday life
Students can be accommodated in accommodation and hostels near the campus or, if the accommodation is not fully occupied, directly on campus.
At IIM Bangalore, the principle that "Healthy minds live in healthy bodies" is upheld. For this reason, students are encouraged to utilise the sports facilities available on campus. This includes a modern sports hall, a football and cricket pitch, a badminton court, a park for joggers and two courts where the locally popular sport of tsepak ball can be played. The mixture of sports and academic incentives aims to ensure the all-round development of every student. In general, you should expect to spend around 400-500 euros per month on living costs in Bangalore.
