Everyday life

With a population of 2.8 million, Incheon is one of the largest cities in South Korea. Its international airport and seaport make it a gateway to the whole of Southeast Asia. The city itself is characterised by cultural and economic growth. There is a very clear trend towards becoming a global hub for business centres in a wide range of industries.

The standard of living in Incheon is quite high. Students should expect to spend between 400 and 600 euros per month.

Students can live in halls of residence on campus, which are conveniently located and within walking distance. All international students are given high priority for on-campus accommodation and students must cover the costs themselves. A proposal for campus accommodation should ideally be submitted with the application.

Formalities & interesting facts

All international students who wish to study in Korea must apply for a student visa (D-2) at the Korean Embassy and receive it there as well. To apply for the visa, a certificate of admission issued by the university must be submitted.

Within 90 days of arrival in Korea, each exchange student must report to the Korean immigration authorities. A registration card will be requested during this visit. The International Office of Inha University will organise group visits at the beginning of the semester, which every exchange student can and should attend.
