Appearance: | Body elongated and slender with a strong, angular head, sand-coloured to greyish-brown ground colour with many light spots, characteristic blue stripes, spots on greatly enlarged pectoral fins with a blue border. |
Behaviour: | With its front, freely movable pectoral fin rays, the flying cock can run over the ground, if it spreads out its pectoral fins it can "fly" short distances over the ground in case of danger. |
