Carl von Ossietzky - Composition Prize

9th international composition competition

The Carl von Ossietzky composition competitions 2007-2014

Carl von Ossietzky's life's work symbolises respect for people and the assumption of personal responsibility for peace policy, education and ecology. It contributes to preserving life values for future generations, to which the promotion of musical culture can also make a contribution.

The Institute of Music - namely the university's orchestra and jazz ensemble - want to lay the foundations for a repertoire that can creatively bring together two bodies of sound: The classical symphony orchestra and the big band. This repertoire of medium difficulty is intended to bring together pupils, students and amateurs in different styles to play together.

With this in mind, the Institute of Music is organising its 9th composition competition for the Carl von Ossietzky Composition Prize.

A main prize of 800 euros and a sponsorship prize of 300 euros can be awarded. The funds are provided by the Oldenburg University Society, among others.
