Carl von Ossietzky Composition Prize

12th International Competition

Version in English

With the announcement of the 12th International Composition Competition 2012, the Institute of Music and the Oldenburg Chamber Choir under the direction of Johannes von Hoff want to lay the foundation for a repertoire of easy to medium difficulty. It is intended to bring together pupils, students and amateurs in different styles to play together.

Requirements: A work for mixed choir (S/A/T/B), percussion (2 players) and organ

Text: self-selected psalm verses (complete psalm or excerpts). All standard percussion instruments can be used, but in the interests of not overcomplicating the logistics, very elaborate instruments with instruments that are difficult to transport should be avoided.

Level of difficulty: easy to moderately difficult. The piece must be able to be performed by student teachers and music students. The level of difficulty is not regarded as a quality criterion. Voice parts in the choir are possible.

Performance time maximum 10 min.

The compositions must not have been published or performed before. There is no age limit. The content of the works is optional.

The closing date for entries is 30.11.2012
