Community Forum: Scientific work pedagogy
In the community forum "Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten Pädagogik" you will find helpful materials and up-to-date information on other student support services relating to academic work and everyday student life (see below).
After registering in the forum, you will have access to recordings and presentations of past workshops, including the following topics:
- Formatting in Word
- Writing seminar papers
- Time management
- Literature management with Zotero
- Creating a thesis paper
In addition, various IT tutorials are available, for example on
- Uploading a portfolio
- Setting up software and email access
- Word basics
- PowerPoint basics
The forum also offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with other students.
Office hours for scientific work:
Online & Presence
The office hours for academic work are a continuous offer for students of the BA Education (also for two-subject BAs), BA Educational Action in the Migration Society and the Master's in Educational Sciences.
- Counselling is available for issues relating to the preparation/composition of written assignments during the degree programme.
- The counselling service has been available for several years and is also appreciated because it provides collegial counselling for students by students takes place.
- It is not necessary to book an appointment or take any further action to take part in the open office hours.

Workshops & Co-Working
Our workshops offer students of education practical support for all aspects of studying, examination phases and a healthy study routine. Depending on the topic, they cover topics such as self-organisation, different types of examination, dealing with stress or small impulses for more well-being in everyday study life.
In addition to the workshops, there is also a co-working programme where students can work together on their own tasks in a productive atmosphere.

Tutorials
Tutorials for the module päd010
As part of the päd010 module, tutorials are offered to help you get started with your university studies in terms of content, methods and people. Among other things
- revise the contents of the lecture 'Fundamentals of Pedagogy',
- discuss exercises,
- discuss texts relating to the module and
- questions and concerns about the programme in general and the module's examinations.

Exceptional hardship is deemed to exist where there are serious health, social or family-related reasons. When allocating places on courses, students who can demonstrate and provide evidence of one of these so-called hardship grounds may be given priority. To claim a so-called ‘hardship case’ in the Department of Education , an informal proposal (with the relevant supporting evidence as a scan or photo) must be submitted by email to . In the Student Council for Education, Educational Practice in a Migration Society & Educational Sciences, students work together to represent students’ interests within committees and vis-à-vis teaching staff, to organise events and to provide support on all study-related matters.
