Report from the DPG College
Niclas and Nils-Erik took part in the first DPG “Next Generation Computing” research group. Together with 12 other PhD students from across Germany, they spent over a year and a half discussing, exchanging ideas, rethinking and analysing what the future of information processing might look like. As well as alternative computing methods, such as reservoir computing and photonic computing, there was, of course, a great deal of focus on quantum computing. The participants planned and ran four weekend seminars on the programme’s topics, supported by a scientific board and a team from the DPG – but read on to find out more for yourselves.
