Young people with difficult educational biographies
Young people with difficult educational biographies
Research into behavioural disorders has shown for years that a significant proportion of young people leave school without a qualification. This trend has remained relatively constant over time and points to structural challenges in the education system. The perception and realisation of the right to education in the individual biographies of young people varies greatly - often with considerable hurdles and burdens. At the centre of such research are the conditions and factors that can contribute to difficult educational biographies. These include individual risk factors such as behavioural problems, psychological stress or social disadvantage as well as school and institutional conditions. Equally important are social relationships in the school context, especially with peers, which can have both a supportive effect and create additional stress.
