The future generations of wind turbines will experience the turbulent wind of the Prandtl-boundary layer and, for the first time, also the fast and quasi laminar winds of the higher Ekman-layer.

These conditions are likely to cause large-scale laminar-turbulent wakes behind the turbines and quickly changing loads on the blades. We investigate these effects in our wind channel by reproducing realistic offshore turbine inflow conditions.
