For students with home university Oldenburg
1) Do I also have to apply / enrol at the University of Bremen?
No, you only apply to the university that you would like to consider as your home university. The admission procedure will then be organised internally. Enrolment also only takes place at your home university.
It is possible that you will receive the access data of the University of Bremen with some delay.
2) How do I gain access to the e-learning programmes of the University of Bremen?
The courses of the University of Bremen can be accessed via SudIP Bremen.
Once you have received your access data from the University of Bremen, you can register directly via StudIP Bremen.
If you initially only have the access data of your home university Oldenburg, you can use the StudIP Bremen access to carry out the so-called "Shibboleth Login" with your OL-StudIP ID.
Further information can be found on this page: FAQ: Stud.IP - University of Bremen (uni-bremen.de)
3) How do I register for courses at the University of Bremen?
Registration for courses at the University of Bremen is usually done via StudIP, registration for examinations via pabo - Examinations Office Bremen Online. To access pabo, students use their student ID number, which is included in their semester documents. Students also need passwords, PIN and TAN numbers. They will receive these by post a few weeks after the start of the semester.
Otherwise: You can use the course overview to find the courses you need to attend. Then you must copy the so-called VAK number and paste it into StudIP (see question no. 2) under Courses. Then continue as usual in StudIP and register for the course.
4) How do I register for examinations at the University of Bremen?
Using the electronic examination administration system pabo , students can register and deregister for examinations online (please note: registration and deregistration times vary in Bremen - there are general periods!) Students can view their study progress and check examination results via the Internet. The required passwords and PIN/TAN numbers are issued by post to all newly enrolled students. If you change subject, the original PIN/TAN numbers remain the same. If necessary, only the responsible Examinations Office or the responsible office will change.
5) Do any other regulations apply to me in addition to the Oldenburg examination regulations ?
Yes, in conjunction with the examination regulations of the University of Oldenburg, there are specific regulations for co-operation for both the two-subject Bachelor's degree and the Master of Education. These can be found at the top of this page.
6) Which Examinations Office certifies my achievements in the Bremen co-operation subject? Where can I get my certificates and diplomas?
The Bremen Examinations Office (ZPA) manages all your achievements in the cooperation subject. You will also receive an overview of your grades there. If you have selected Oldenburg as your home university, you will receive the final documents (certificate and transcript of records) from us. The transcript of records (attachment to the certificate) will show the modules from both universities.
School internships
Students at their home university in Oldenburg should contact the Didactic Centre (DiZ) at the University of Oldenburg for assignment to schools. For students at the home university in Bremen, the Centre for Teacher Training (ZfLB) at the University of Bremen is responsible.
1) How do I register for the school internships during my (co-operation) studies?
For students of the (home) University of Oldenburg, registration and assignment to schools is organised by the Centre for Teacher Education - Didactic Centre (DiZ). For students of the (home) University of Bremen, the Centre for Teacher Education (ZfLB) of the University of Bremen is responsible.
2) Why can students on the Master of Education degree programme with the Gymnasium school type at the University of Oldenburg not choose where they complete the prx530 specialist internship and prx536 research and development internship?
Due to the different structures of the Master of Education degree programmes at both locations, only the prx530 specialist internship is possible in the cooperation subject.
Students at the (home) University of Oldenburg must complete the preparatory and accompanying courses for prx530 at the University of Bremen and the preparatory and accompanying seminar for prx536 at the University of Oldenburg. Both internships, prx530 and prx536, take place in one period at one school. Students must register for both internships via the DiZ according to the registration times.
3) What should I bear in mind when looking for a school for the prx530 specialist internship and prx536 research and development internship in the cooperative study programme?
It is possible to search for a school for the prx530 specialist internship and prx536 research and development internship yourself after consultation with the responsible lecturer in the cooperative study programme.
Please note: Since the school you search for yourself must be located outside the allocation areas of the universities of Oldenburg, Osnabrück and Bremen, you may have to travel long distances. This makes it more difficult for lecturers to visit you at the school during your internship.
It is therefore essential that you speak to your lecturer about reasonable distances before starting your self-search! Ideally, the school you are looking for should be in the Bremen area.
If you are looking for a school yourself as part of the cooperative study programme, please always contact the responsible administrator at the DiZ.
Stay abroad
What should I bear in mind when studying a foreign language as part of the co-operation?
The University of Bremen's regulations for studying abroad apply to the co-operation subjects French Romance Studies/French and Hispanic Studies/Spanish. The stay abroad covers a period of 4 months.
Further information can be obtained from the Department of Romance Studies at the University of Bremen.
Final theses
Can I write my thesis in a cooperative subject at the University of Bremen?
It is possible to write both your Bachelor's and Master's thesis in a cooperative subject at the University of Bremen. Please note the relevant notes in the respective regulations and talk to your lecturers at the University of Bremen in advance.
You must register for the thesis at your home university.
History of the co-operation
The University of Oldenburg and the University of Bremen have been cooperating in various areas since 2000. In 2001/2002, the first enrolments in cooperative subjects were possible at the other location. In 2002/03, the joint Bachelor's degree programme in Comparative and European Law ("Hanse Law School") was launched, which led to a new Master's degree programme in 2005/06. Due to the Bachelor-Master changeover at both universities, the co-operation was suspended in 2005.
The newly revised co-operation agreement was signed in March 2006. Since 2008/09, the first cooperation subjects have been offered in a Master of Education degree programme.
