Introducing the NMU

USA, Marquette: Northern Michigan University

Northern Michigan University (NMU) is beautifully situated on the southern shore of Lake Superior, one of the Great Lakes of North America and also one of the largest inland lakes in the world.

With around 10,000 students, NMU is slightly smaller than the University of Oldenburg. It is located in the small town of Marquette, which has a population of around 20,000. These are considered to be particularly close to nature, which is certainly due to the proximity to Lake Superior. The location also explains the wide range of water sports and hiking opportunities. But winter sports are not neglected either - because it gets cold in winter.

Academically, the NMU specialises in art, English, education, special education and business studies. Courses can only be chosen at Bachelor level.
